THE COSMOS OF OKTYABR |
Looking
at the paintings of this master one can’t help being surprised by his diligence
and devotion to the subject. Altai remains in the focus of his interest:
mountains, valleys, rivers, lakes - everything comes to life at the moment
reflected by the artist. Irrespective of the changing life is his careful
attitude to the reality and unique beauty of every corner of it: “Katun”,
“Belukha”, “Muntinskoye Lake”, and so on. Along with then one can admire
the landscapes which outgrow from concrete objects emergence of new concepts
of everlasting: “Depth”, “Confluence”, “Eternal”, “Cosmos”. Confirming
his affection to realistic landscape, the artist is constantly striving
for philosophical comprehension of it. That’s why the mountain of Belukha
turns into a glimmering cosmic symbol - a precious crystal which attracts
and draws a man. The master puts aside the brush and works with a mestichino
to give more expression and significance to this image. True adornments
are canvases painted after his tour to Italy and France. The artist didn’t
change his style, and nevertheless succeeded to make a classical variant
of travel sketches, having developed them into large pictures. Here one
can note high quality that follows from combination of reading - book motives
and confidence how to depict them. The master shows perfect knowledge of
art history and genuine delight of everything he has seen. It would be
good to dwell on Valery’s works which could be relativery called ”romantic
nu”. They attract the onlookers attention - we haven’t yet lost the ability
to admire a woman’s nude. These pieces give a salon - academic tint to
his exhibitions, due to which tired of incomprehensible modern pictures
people can have a rest and enjoy the works of art. Canvases of this master
are a success and sell well. They can be found in many houses of Altai,
Siberia, Canada, the USA, France, Gemany, Italy, Switzerland, Japan.
